The Hammerschmiede distillery is located in the Elsbach Valley, nestled in the mountainous landscape of the Southern Harz Mountains. Instead of iron ore, the Buchholz family processes a different regional raw material here: barley. Hercynian Single Malt has been produced at the factory since 2002.

This sophisticated whisky from the heart of Germany is bottled in various series. Neither as mild as an ElsBurn nor as intense as a wood-smoky, powerful The Alrik, whiskies in the WollowBurn series are delicately spicy and aromatic. Instead, they rely on a blend of smoked and unsmoked malts.

One of them is now available exclusively to Kirsch customers: The WillowBurn Ruby Port 2019/2025 is a single cask that matured for six years in the distillery's cask warehouse at a high Angels' Share of 16.6 percent. Those who secure one of the 363 bottles can look forward to the delicious effect that the sweetest port variety unfolds in the single malt.
