Whiskeyland Chapter 12 is a single 1992 refill barrel from Tormore, aged for 33 years and bottled at natural cask strength. This is an extremely pure and natural example of Tormore, full of citrus peels, waxes and bright cereal notes. A wonderful old malt
for distillate fanatics!
TASTING NOTES
Nose: Pure, bright cereals, tinged with lemons, waxes and hessian. Also bone marrow, chalk, mineral oil, old leather, olive oil and dried herbs. A rich and emphatic whiskey that is dominated by the raw ingredient characteristics, all muddled and molded by time.
Palate: Even after 33 years, there is an immediate sense of freshness, richness and power. Lots of cereals, breads and beers, all full of natural, subtly honeyed sweetness. Background waxy texture, with more citrus rinds and light fruit teas.
Finish: Medium length finish, full of grassy freshness, pressed meadow flowers, pollens, more sweet cereal notes and a hint of cider apple.
