Many roads lead to Whiskyland—but like these two confused Vikings, most people have to get lost to find their way here. Whiskyland Chapter Sixteen is the marriage of a 2005 first-fill Highland Park sherry hogshead with a 1997 refill Highland Park hogshead.
The resulting 20-year-old grog, bottled at natural marriage strength, is a superb interpretation of the classic, mature, multi-vintage character of the Highland Park distillery, with a subtle sherry note. So, hoist the sails for a storm, christen all your weapons with names like "Bone Squelcher," "Skull Mangler," and "Thighroid Disruptor," grab some nosing horns, and pray to your favorite imaginary gods that you wash ashore on one of Whiskyland's shores well-equipped with inns and at least three-star accommodations.
