Glencadam 17 Years 2006/2023 - PX Quarter Cask

As small and secret as the Glencadam Distillery is, its range offers a wealth of variety. Connoisseurs have had to wait around 180 years for original bottlings from the East Highlands distillery. The whiskies, which are up to 38 years old, are produced in two copper pot stills, just as they were in Glencadam's founding days. Their construction produces a delicate and smooth spirit, which matures in a variety of high-quality casks in the traditional dunnage warehouse.

The distillery's limited releases demonstrate the complex influence of butts, barrels, and other elements on Glencadam whisky. For the Glencadam 17 yo Reserva PX, Master Distiller Robert Fleming aged his single malt in small Pedro Ximénez Sherry Quarter Casks—creating an experience that sweetens the dark season with luscious notes of Black Forest gateau, coffee, dark berries, and dates.

Tasting Notes
Nose : Rich aromas of sticky toffee pudding, black cherries, salted caramel and maple syrup, blended with dark berry fruits and cocoa powder.
Palate : Sumptuous layers of Black Forest cake, blackcurrant licorice, cappuccino and crème caramel, paired with dates, prunes and sweet spices.
Finish : Chocolate-cherry liqueur, tart with almond cream (frangipane) and raisins give way to espresso and cozy cake spices.
