Glenallachie 10 Year Old - Ruby Port Wood Finish
Nose: Powerful, with mocha, rosehips and lokum (Turkish sweet made from syrup), with butterscotch, almonds and poached pear.
Palate: Waves of chocolate-covered raisins, honey and syrup, followed by notes of candy cane, glacé cherries and cinnamon spice.
Studying the influence of casks on single malt whisky is Billy Walker's life's work. The industry veteran devotes himself to this phenomenon, particularly in the Wood Finish Series. The series consists of innovative bottlings that The GlenAllachie Master Blender perfects in puncheons, pipes, and similar barrels, often from small producers around the world. He created The GlenAllachie 10 yo – Ruby Port Wood Finish exclusively for the German market.
This exquisite single malt, with its natural amber hue, was aged in former American white oak bourbon casks to secure classic vanilla and spice notes. Finished in ruby port hogsheads, this exclusive bottling nestles softly and velvetily on the palate. Robust dark fruit notes and rich mocha blend harmoniously with the honey-like character of The GlenAllachie whisky, creating a taste experience with striking depth.
