Unearthing premium casks of Scottish whisky has always been the focus of Elixir Distillers. Since 2002, the independent bottler has released these under the name The Single Malts of Scotland. The range consists of outstanding, unadulterated vintage malts from all Scottish whisky regions. The A Marriage of Casks series combines years of matured qualities with rarities to create unique, limited-edition whiskies.
These include the "mystery malt" An Islay Distillery 30 yo. This single malt from one of the island's celebrated distilleries matured for a proud three decades in just two barrels and one butt. At 47.5% ABV, it is robust despite its considerable age. This wonderful "old-school" Islay malt balances the typical notes of peat, coast, campfire smoke, and iodine with a luscious sweetness of tropical fruits and caramel.
