Amrut 8 Years 2014/2022 - Master Distiller's Reserve

Whisky has been making history in India for over 150 years. However, the history of Indian whisky at Scottish standards only began around the turn of the millennium, with Amrut. India's flagship distillery was the first in the country to produce genuine single malt and established its quality whisky from Bangalore around the globe. The ambitious distillers rely on small-grained and therefore sweeter Indian barley from the foothills of the Himalayas. Amrut uses malted barley from Scotland only for peated bottlings.

The Master Distiller's Reserve is the first expression in an annual series of single casks selected by Amrut's Master Distiller.

This expression of pure elegance is made from peated malted barley (peat from Scotland), double distilled in pot stills and matured in ex-bourbon casks and then in ex-Pedro Ximenez sherry casks (finish).

This single cask also marks the first peaty bottling matured in sherry casks for Amrut.
