Amrut 7 Years 2015/2022 - Single Cask #3822

Whisky has been making history in India for over 150 years. However, the history of Indian whisky at Scottish standards only began around the turn of the millennium, with Amrut. India's flagship distillery was the first in the country to produce genuine single malt and established its quality whisky from Bangalore around the globe. The ambitious distillers rely on small-grained and therefore sweeter Indian barley from the foothills of the Himalayas. Amrut uses malted barley from Scotland only for peated bottlings.

For an exclusive European series, the experimentalists rely on barrels from Spain and Portugal. What they all have in common: pre-filling with strong wines.

In the Amrut Oloroso Cask 2015/2022, lightly peated Indian single malt meets the dark fruity, nutty character of a former sherry cask.
