Whiskey Sponge Edition No.58b ist der lange in der Entwicklung befindliche Nachfolger der Edition Nr.58a. Es ist derselbe Whisky, ein Refill Cask von Ben Nevis aus dem Jahr 1996, nur dass wir die zweite Hälfte für etwas mehr als zwei Jahre in einem 2nd Fill Sherry-Butt nachreiften. Decadent Drinks haben den Whisky dann mit einem leichten Reduzierung auf 55 % abgefüllt. Das ist ein großer, reichhaltiger, öliger, wachsartiger und mechanischer Ben Nevis, kraftvoll, West Highland, destillatgetrieben, mit einem Hauch Sherry Erdigkeit.
Tasting Notes
Nose: Mechanical, waxy, oily, with delicate notes of mashed exotic fruits, may types of cooking oils, paraffin and even some salty and leathery touches.
Palate: Very fat and waxy, mechanical and oily once again, lots of dried fruits, herbs, cured meats, medicines and hessian. Also olive oil and more camphor notes. Very big whisky!
Finish: Long, salty, waxy, oily, some sesame oil, natural tar and a very mineral aftertaste.
