Beschreibung
This is a 2007 refill bourbon hogshead of Mortlach, aged for 16 years and bottled at this series’ trademark bottling strength of 48.5%. A big, full-bodied, waxy and naturally sweet example of Mortlach that shows this distillery’s famously fat and rich distillate in a superbly naked light.
Tasting Notes
Nose: waxes, oils, cereals and buttery notes combine with baked apple, starched fabrics and nicely fatty olive oil touches. Very easy and rich and full of the raw, malty ingredients.
Palate: classic full-bodied Mortlach goodness! Lots of oily sweetness and waxes balanced by green and yellow fruits and cereals.
Finish: long, warming, peppery, cereal and full of more green fruits with some floral notes.
