Tan Cho is an innovative single malt that draws on the traditions and over 270 years of experience of the Hakutsuru sake brewery in Nada. This exquisite, semi-sweet whisky is distilled and aged in eastern Hokkaido, one of the central regions of Japanese whisky production. After more than three years of maturation in select casks, it is finished in rare Mizunara casks. These give it its fresh, forest-like flavor, similar to the aroma of (barrel-aged) Taru sake.
Tasting Notes
Nose: Ripe honeydew melon, caramel and almonds.
Palate: Soft sweetness of bananas, gentle waves of caramel and fresh herbal notes.
Finish: Dark chocolate, orange and pleasantly persistent smoky and peaty notes
