Staoisha 10 Years 2013/2024 - Whisky Sponge Edition #16 (4cl Sample)

“The Sponge is dead, long live the Sponge!”

That's more or less what you might think at the moment. Because: Although the last Sponge was supposed to hit the market in mid-2024, there's now "one more Sponge thing" – a Germany exclusive.

The shops Whisky-Maniac, Whisky Agents, and Whisky-Leaks-Ulm are, of course, incredibly proud to have been able to bring such a fantastic Islay malt to Germany. This also demonstrates how important the German market has become for the team at Angus Macraild and Decadent Drinks. The three shops and Decadent Drinks would like to thank all German sponge nerds for their support over the past few years!

The single malt is a heavy peated Bunnahabhain, which was initially matured in a refill hogshead before being transferred to a first-fill PX American oak sherry cask. It matured there for two years and was bottled at natural cask strength at the age of 10.

Angus describes the taste of the Islay malt as follows: "It tastes like Satan's smoked beer and pre-historic currywurst!" Definitely not for wimps and more than worthy of the latest Sponge bottling.
