It's not often that Decadent Drinks wraps itself in Kevlar and tiptoes south to England. But this time, for a very special celebration and several glasses of foaming English ale with our friends at the Spirit of Yorkshire Distillery, we made an exception.
The result of this mission is this wonderful little cask of Spirit of Yorkshire. Matured in 2018 and fully aged in a former Islay cask, which imparted a subtle peat note, this is a beautifully rich, rich, and slightly smoky young example of this charming English brand.
Please note: Velociraptor nurses and souped-up forklifts are not included in the sale of this bottle.
Tasting Notes
Nose: Soft seashore aromas, very fragile peat smoke, beach shells, pebbles and sandalwood with gentle citrus curds and salted honey.
Palate: Bright mineral notes, sweet cereals, flower honey, lightly waxy and with some lovely soft, sweet peat smoke and tiger balm. A lovely honeyed profile and syrupy texture.
Finish: Good length, with residual honey sweetness and lingering, warming notes of very delicate peat smoke and medicine.
