Savanna Rhum 2016/2023 - Art of Rum by Yann Le Gal

In the sugarcane paradise of La Réunion, the Savanna distillery has been handcrafting rare, authentic rum since 1870. Unusually for a distillery in the French overseas departments, it uses fresh sugarcane juice as well as molasses. Free from any additives and unchill-filtered, Savanna rums reveal multifaceted aromas that reflect the island's wild beauty.

The portfolio includes unaged premium qualities for a variety of drinks as well as barrel-aged rums, primarily from cognac casks. For a limited series of aged rums, Savanna collaborates with contemporary artists from La Réunion, whose creativity reflects that of a master blender.

The Savanna 2016/2023 – Art of Rum by Yann Le Gall blends two old molasses rums with eight-year-old Agricole Rum, each matured in French oak cognac casks. The result offers a luscious nose with floral notes, milk chocolate, and honey, which transition to soft wood notes, warm cinnamon, a hint of hazelnut, and delicately roasted dried fruits on the palate.
