Savanna Rhum 2015/2023 Très Vieux de la Réunion

In the sugarcane paradise of La Réunion, the Savanna distillery has been handcrafting rare, authentic rum since 1870. Unusually for a distillery in the French overseas departments, it uses fresh sugarcane juice as well as molasses. Free from any additives and unchill-filtered, Savanna rums reveal multifaceted, authentic flavors that reflect the island's wild beauty.
The portfolio includes unaged premium qualities for diverse drinks as well as barrel-aged rums, primarily from cognac casks. For a limited series, Savanna collaborates with contemporary artists from La Réunion, whose creativity reflects that of a master blender. The Savanna 2015/2023 – Art of Rum by VAST is the first release. It blends molasses rum from four barrels, partly distilled in a Créole still, partly in a Savalle column still, and aged for the last two years in Savanna's famously humid cellars. The result is original and vibrant, characterized by licorice, mild wood notes, and vanilla.

In stark contrast to this is the Savanna Créol 52, an Agricole Rhum distilled from freshly pressed juice with typical sugar cane notes, fruity sweetness and hints of citrus and star anise.

Undiluted, the Agricole Rhum Savanna Créol Straight 68.7 conveys the freshness of Bois Rouge sugarcane in all its intensity. The Savanna Trad G 69 also delivers intense aromas. Distilled from molasses fermented for six days and bottled at 69% ABV, it is a sought-after high-ester rum.
