In the sugarcane paradise of La Réunion, the Savanna distillery has been handcrafting rare, authentic rums since 1870. Its portfolio includes unaged premium qualities for varied drinks as well as expertly crafted barrel-aged rums, especially from cognac barrels.
For a limited-edition collection, Savanna collaborates with contemporary artists from Réunion—and showcases the master blender's creativity with creative packaging. The new Savanna 2019/2023 – Art of Rum by Repy brings together two white rums—an Agricole and a Grand Arôme Rum—that were blended to create Marque AGA and matured in Savanna's humid cellar number 4.
Matured intensively in this way, an expressive experience developed with funky aromas of olives, smoke, curry, and tropical fruits, balanced by delicate wood notes. Spices, almond cream, floral tones, and a hint of salt provide a luscious flavor.
The visual design of the cuvée was entrusted to Repy, an artist from La Réunion who is passionate about writing and graphic forms and who combines graffiti, illustration and lettering in his work.
