Raasay - Double Cask Peated - 45th Anniversary Cherry Whiskey

These are complicated times for major anniversaries. We're therefore celebrating our 45th anniversary without fanfare, but with a truly fine dram. This was provided by a distillery that wrote the first chapters of its own whisky history last year. The Isle of Raasay Distillery is the first legal whisky distillery on the Scottish island of the same name and celebrated the launch of its first standard bottling this summer.

To celebrate 45 years of Kirsch Import, we have secured the first special bottling from this windswept distillery outside of the UK. Unlike the Scots' standard, the Kirsch 45th Anniversary Double Cask Single Malt uses only peated barley malt. As the name suggests, the smoky distillates matured in two different single casks – a first-fill Chinkapin Oak Cask and a first-fill Oloroso Sherry Cask. The result, with its aromatic smoke and intense dark fruit, celebratory blends two of perhaps the most beautiful flavor profiles.
