The Octomore 16.2 is the exciting continuation of the 16 year old edition, especially when compared to the signature whisky of the series, the Octomore 16.1.
Distilled from the same barley batch as Octomore 16.1, Octomore 16.2 was first matured in ex-Oloroso and Bordeaux casks before being finished in Madeira and Moscatel casks, which lends it depth and sweetness. The aromas are dominated by caramelized sugar, roasted nuts, and dried fruits, beautifully embedded in sweet campfire smoke. A multi-layered, balanced whisky that deserves time and the connoisseur's full attention, revealing its complexity with every sip.
