Lochlea 6 years 2018/2024
It's a Scottish rarity: The Lochlea Distillery is independent, family-run, and one of the few distilleries in Scotland to grow its own barley. This creates authentic single malts, characterized by the barley of its region and with a flavor profile unusual for the Lowlands.
With the Lochlea 6 yo, the farm distillery presents its oldest bottling to date and only its second age statement. The single malt combines six casks from 2018 selected by Master Blender Jill Boyd and Distillery Manager Darren McCormick.
The three first fill bourbon barrels and three Oloroso sherry butts are among the first barrels that Lochlea ever filled.
The ruby-red Lochlea Senior was bottled at 50% ABV without coloring or chill filtration in just 2,500 bottles. The resulting dram is wonderfully smooth and sweet.
On the nose, there are notes of juicy dark grapes, figs, and milk chocolate, which transition to creamy panna cotta, malted biscuits, and honey on the palate. The finish offers a bright hint of lemon peel alongside the unmistakable Lochlea grain character.
We ship exclusively with DHL. Optionally, and for an additional charge, we offer DHL Express (not available in Germany). Furthermore, all shipments are sent with DHL age verification.
