Founded in 1753, Hampden Estate has been distilling for almost three centuries in the Trelawny region, the "Grand Cru" of Jamaican rum. The distillery's rich, unadulterated pure single pot still rums are renowned worldwide. Their full-bodied flavor with highly aromatic ester notes is guaranteed by five strictly defined production methods – including fermentation with wild yeasts and at least eight years of aging in Jamaica's tropical climate.
Hampden Great House 2024, a blend released annually since 2019, is the sixth in the eponymous series. The bottling pays homage to the distillery's Great House, the prestigious villa built in 1779 by the Stirling family. The 2024 Distillery Edition expresses the distinctive style of this iconic Jamaican rum by blending several marques from three different vintages: The freshness of mint meets luscious tropical fruits, mineral slate tones, chocolate, and intense raisin notes.
