Die sieben Einzelfassabfüllungen stammen aus den Reihen Benchmark, dem Herzstück von Murray McDavid, und Mission Gold, die besonders alte, seltene und außergewöhnliche Whiskys umfasst.
Über Murray McDavid
Ob Sherry Casks aus spanischen Bodegas, Starkweinfässer aus Madeira, Port Pipes aus Portugal, Barriquefässer von Europas Top-Winzern, Fässer karibischer Rumbrennereien oder Bourbon Casks aus den USA: Murray McDavid bezieht Fässer direkt vom Produzenten. Der Holzschatz ist zum Markenzeichen des renommierten unabhängigen Abfüllers geworden. 1994 von Mark Reynier (heutiger CEO von Waterford und Renegade), Simon Coughlin und Gordon Wright (Springbank Distillery) gegründet, machte sich Murray McDavid mit Nachreifungen in den erlesenen Fässern schnell einen Namen. Bekannt ist das Team auch durch die Übernahme und „Rettung“ der Bruichladdich Distillery.
Zuhause ist Murray McDavid aber in der stillgelegten Coleburn Distillery in der Speyside. Im traditionellen Dunnage-Warehouse reifen die Abfüllungen hier zwischen niedrigen, dafür dicken Wänden sowie auf Lehmboden. Single Malt und Grain Whisky, Vatted Malts und Blended Whisky erscheinen in verschiedenen Serien. Deren Herz: Benchmark. Nur erstklassige Single Malts finden den Weg in die türkis etikettierten Flaschen.
