Elements of Islay - Sherry Cask

For Elements of Islay, Elixir Distillers select whiskies from all active and partially inactive Islay distilleries. The bottlers compose their delicious elemental blends from casks of different ages, sometimes from different distilleries. The goal: to capture the full spectrum of the island's malt whiskies, with their medicinal, peaty, and maritime character.

For lasting enjoyment, the Islay periodic table is expanding: From now on, the limited small batch bottlings in apothecary bottles will be joined by standard bottlings – in 700ml bottles.

Nose: The scent of tobacco in an empty sandalwood cigar box. This is complemented by the maritime, smoky aroma of smoked fish (Arbroath smokie), aromatic notes of lemon oil, ginger root, and a hint of menthol.
Palate: Lush, smoky, and smooth. Candied orange slices and pieces of candied ginger dipped in dark chocolate. Muscovado sugar syrup creates a sticky, dark drizzle over ginger cake with dates against a backdrop of sweet peat smoke and dried autumn fruits.
Finish: Syrupy toffee and smoky black tea, sweetened with dark brown sugar. Long, sweet, full, and smoky-spicy finish.
