Since the Middle Ages, seven lucky gods have been worshipped in Japan, especially at New Year. Each god symbolizes good luck and has unique qualities and associations. This time, we're proud to present the 6: Daikokuten. Daikokuten is the god of wealth, trade, and commerce and is often considered the protector of chefs, farmers, and bankers. According to legend, he hung a sacred talisman from the branch of a tree in his garden to trap demons. With his characteristic smile, short legs, and hat on his head, he usually carries a bag full of valuables.
The Daikokuten edition is bottled at 61.9% ABV and is limited to 187 bottles. This heavily peated 9-year-old whiskey matured in a second-fill ex-bourbon cask with cask number 4664. Distilled in 2015 and bottled in 2024.
