Ardnahoe - Bholsa
The new release is named after the spectacular 'Bholsa' caves near the distillery. The casks, with a predominantly Oloroso sherry content, impart a special depth and rich spice to the single malt, creating a traditional and full-bodied Islay style. The result is a sweet and rich reward of ripe plums, orange, and smoky raisins, soaked in Oloroso sherry. A spicy and pleasantly long smoky finish. Bottled at Ardnahoe's preferred alcohol content of 50.0%, with no artificial colors or chill filtration.
About Ardnahoe
With the Ardnahoe Distillery, the Laing family's long-held dream of producing their own single malt Scotch whisky on the magical island of Islay has come true. The Islay distillery combines the characteristic Islay characteristics of peat and smoke with a sweet fruitiness and intense depth of flavor. Ardnahoe distills exclusively using traditional methods: softly peated Islay water is drawn from the eponymous Loch Ardnahoe, while Ardnahoe is the only distillery on Islay to use two traditional worm tubs and two copper pot stills with exceptionally long lyne arms, which ensure extreme copper contact and lend the whisky additional depth and complexity. With Ardnahoe, the classic Islay style is rediscovered – A New Islay Classic.
