Ardbeg 20 Years 2001/2021 - Wu Dram Clan's Private Reserve - Bottle #13

Ardbeg Single Cask #348 was distilled in 2001 and placed in a refill bourbon cask. After 20 years, the whisky was bottled in 2021 at 46.6% ABV for Wu Dram Clan as part of Ardbeg's Private Reserve program.

A strictly limited single cask bottling of only 155 bottles! This rare Ardbeg is already sold out. We found three bottles of it in our warehouse and are offering this fantastic bottling at the original issue price. Since single cask bottlings from Ardbeg are almost non-existent these days, this single malt is coveted by collectors and connoisseurs alike. A true gem for any Ardbeg collector.

Nose: but naturally, fish oils, tar, tires, lemons and crushed bitter almonds. Look how life is simple!

Mouth: I'm realizing that this more or less bears the age of the first stunning 1970s single casks, and that it's got a similar kind of impact on us. Extraordinary fatness, earthiness, herbalness, tarriness, lemonness and lochness (surely the lousiest joke ever on this wee website, I know I need to apologize but this wee 'beg just put me in a great mood). The most striking aspect here is that it is 'one'. Love the fatty tarry side and yet the light, almost refreshing coastal lemonness. Great combination, pretty 'obvious'.

Finish: long, rather sublime. Balance is absolutely perfect and I'm even finding roasted pine nuts in the aftertaste, of which I could wolf down half a tone without blinking an eye.
